Words

Words

I have spent all my life writing words, reading phrases
Talking and singing my words without end
But with all of these words I've not found the right phrases
To say how I love you, my friend.

I have felt your hand holding mine and your heart beating
Thought you are far away and I'm alone
But the love that we share grows between us each meeting
Seeing you means being home.

There are time when the world seems to land on my shoulders
When I and everyone else needs a hand
Then your smile gives me hope that my world will keep turning
You are my courage, my friend.

I have spent all my life writing words, reading phrases
Talking and singing my words without end
But with all of these words I've not found the right phrases
To say how I love you, my friend
