This is pennywhistle notation for the song, automatically produced by an experimental program.

This notation is pretty simple; dark circles mean covered holes; empty circles mean uncovered holes; a '+' below means to blow harder to get the upper octave; a '#' below means this note is too low for the whistle chosen and you'll have to fake it :) The author of this program always plays accidentals by closing holes, so you'll never see half-covered holes.

When I was starting, I found notation like this to be very helpful, and I know plenty of people who have trouble reading music who find this notation easier. Good luck!

A La Puerta Del Cielo

A la puerto del cielo vendan zapatos
Para los angelitos que andan descalzos

cho: Duermete, nino, duermete, nino
     Duermete, nino, arru, arru

A los rinos que duerman Dios benedice
A las madres que velan Dios las assiste

English translation:

At the gate of Heaven little shoes they are selling
For the little bare-footed angels there dwelling.

cho: Slumber my baby, slumber my baby
     Slumber my baby, arru, aarru.

God will bless children who go to sleep
God will help mothers who pray.

Collected from the Basque people in New Mexico 1932
