This notation is pretty simple; dark circles mean covered holes; empty circles mean uncovered holes; a '+' below means to blow harder to get the upper octave; a '#' below means this note is too low for the whistle chosen and you'll have to fake it :) The author of this program always plays accidentals by closing holes, so you'll never see half-covered holes.
When I was starting, I found notation like this to be very helpful, and I know plenty of people who have trouble reading music who find this notation easier. Good luck!

You Are My Sunshine (Jimmy Davis & Charles Mitchell) The other night dear, as I lay sleeping I dreamed I held you in my arms When I awoke, dear, I was mistaken So I hung my head and I cried. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray You'll never know dear, how much I miss you Please don't take my sunshine away I'll always love you and make you happy, If you will only say the same. But if you leave me to love another, You'll regret it all some day: CHORUS You told me once, dear, you really loved me And no one else could come between. But not you've left me and love another; You have shattered all my dreams: CHORUS Copyright 1940 and 1977 by Peer International Corporation. Jimmie Davis was a country gospel singer who later served two terms as governor of Louisiana (mid 1 940's and early 1960's). DC
