True love from battle returning,
At the height of his fame, you come prescient

     On the bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.

Sung by Richard Thompson on French Frith Kaiser Thompson's
"Invisible Means" (1990).
This is sung to the same tune and chorus as the familiar version
(LOCHLMND) but has completely different verses. In my opinion
these are a lot less sentimental and more compelling (at least
more cryptic).
